Canadian startup SpaceRyde raised $10 million from early-stage investors and government awards to develop a cleaner, more efficient path to space. Its innovative system used a stratospheric balloon to lift rockets above the atmosphere, eliminating emissions and avoiding ozone impact.

The rocket was envisioned as the world’s first multi-functional orbital vehicle, designed to stay powered in space and operate as part of a reusable deep space network.
