Most Gen Z students struggle with long lectures. Opennote fixes that. It’s an AI tutor that turns messy slides into personalized videos, interactive whiteboards, and practice problems. Powered by Meta’s open-source Llama models and your own learning style, Opennote makes studying a piece of cake.
Fresh off an $850K raise in Y Combinator’s Summer 2025 batch, Opennote came to O0 to ditch the dull and craft a vibey digital presence that actually clicks with undergrads.

Like most great partner stories, this one started by stepping into the customers’ shoes (even if they were a bit tight). That gave us a glimpse into how learning really happens: messy, chaotic, and full of sparks.
From there, margin sketches took shape. First as a squiggle in a notebook, then as a doodle in Figma, until we landed on an identity that blends hands-on learning with digital clarity.

We imagined the website as a chit-chat in the hall of college. How would a classmate describe Opennote? Chill and lit. The website tells the story in a way that keeps users engaged while giving them all the key info. It mixes a sharp focus on the product interface with playful design.

Funky, doodly illustrations perfectly balance the clean typography. Rooted in scenes of collaboration and discovery, the sketches appear in unexpected ways, sparking curiosity and giving the brand a fun vibe.
