Most Gen Z students struggle with long lectures. Opennote fixes that. It’s an AI tutor that turns messy slides into personalized videos, interactive whiteboards, and practice problems — basically the study buddy we all wish we’d had. Powered by Meta’s open-source Llama models and your own learning style, Opennote makes studying a piece of cake.
Fresh off an $850K raise in Y Combinator’s Summer 2025 batch, Opennote came to O0 to ditch the dull and craft a vibey digital presence that actually clicks with undergrads.

Like most great partner stories, this one started by stepping into the customers’ shoes (even if they were a bit tight). That gave us a glimpse into how learning really happens: messy, chaotic, and full of sparks.
From there, margin sketches took shape. First as a squiggle in a notebook, then as a doodle in Figma, until we landed on an identity that blends hands-on learning with digital clarity.

We imagined the website as a chit-chat in the hall of college. How would a classmate describe Opennote? Chill and lit. The website tells the story in a way that keeps users engaged while giving them all the key info. It mixes a sharp focus on the product interface with playful design.

There’s no rhyme or reason not to bring in funky, sketch-like illustrations. Loose and a little offbeat, they perfectly balance the clean typography. Rooted in collaboration and discovery, scetches pop up in fun, unexpected ways that spark curiosity and give the brand a fun vibe.
